Lapu-Lapu and Bohol bets win Mr and Ms CVIRAA

DANAO CITY—Exuding grace and elegance, 16-year-old Farah Faye Mian of Bohol Province and 14-year-old Giorgio Visitacion of Lapu-Lapu City bested 22 other candidates to romp off with the Mr. and Ms. CVIRAA 2010 title Wednesday night at the Danao Civic center here.
Facing a jampacked crowd who were at times boisterous and intent on putting the candidates off their stride, both Mian and Visitacion remained focused and answered their questions with astuteness, which got them the nod of the judges.
Mian was also chosen as Best in Philippine Terno.
First runner-up honors went to Cebu City's Cleofe Jerrae Blanco of Cebu Eastern College (CEC) and Danao City's Cullen Sagario.
Blanco also won two of the five special awards—the Best in Festival Costume and Best in Sportswear.
Danao's Guinica Villareal, who elicited the loudest applause from the crowd, fished the second runner-up title along with Cebu City's Jonathan maxim Po of the University of San Jose Recoletos (USJR).
Po also went home as Best in Festival Costume, Best in Sportswear and Best in Barong Tagalog.
Third runner-up winners were Talisay City's Endira Serbise and Mandaue City's Dave Ong.
Rounding up the winners as fourth runners-up were Dumaguete's Audrey Evelyn Woods and Tanjay's kent Kinkito.
Other awardees were Bais City's Ines Marie Sibala and Talisay City's Jhonald Dalusong as Mr and Ms Congeniality.
MR. & MISS CVIRAA: Lapu-Lapu, Bohol candidates triumph

Danao City , Philippines – The most popular as well as the most decorated candidates of the 2010 Mr.and Miss Central Visayas Regional Athletic Association (CVIRAA) Regional Meet were toppled by a darkhorse from Lapu-Lapu City and an unassuming beauty from Bohol at the city’s air-conditioned Civic Center here the other night.
Lapu-lapu’s Giorgio Visitacion was adjudged as Mr. CVIRAA while Farrah Faye Mian of Bohol was picked as Miss CVIRAA.
Cebu City’s Jonathan Po grabbed most of the minor awards including the best in festival costume, sportswear, barong tagalong while Talisay’s Jhonald Vern Dalusong got the Mr. Congeniality award and Keanu Medalla got the sports achievement award, but Visitacion’s win during the question and answer portion plus his overall bearing won him the title.
Host city’s bet, Callen Sagario placed first runner-up while Cebu City’s Po could was the second runner-up while the next two slots were taken by Mandaue’s Dave Ong and Tanjay’s Kent Kinkito.
On the other hand, the gracefulness and poise of Bohol’s Farrah Faye Mian outdid Cebu City’s charming Cleofe Blanco, who also collected most of the special awards including the festival costume and sportswear.
The 5’6†Mian, who had only joined a one beauty contest prior to this event, also won the best in Philippine terno. She wore a pink beaded gown that radiated her simplicity and beauty in the final round.
Another pretty face on the stage, Guinica Villareal got the second runner-up trophy while the third to fifth runners-up were Talisay’s Endira Serbise and Dumaguete’s Audrey Evelyn Woods.
Woods was also awarded the sports achievement award while Bais City’s Ines Marie Sibala won as Ms. Congeniality.
