Bohol Sunday Post | Press ReleaseNine barangays here recently launched an Agrarian Reform Community (ARC) dubbed as ARC CAMPVILPPAPINS in a ceremony on August 8 at the barangay court of Pinayagan Sur with first district Representative Edgar M. Chatto as guest of honor.
Other guests of honor were Senior Provincial Board Member Cesar Thomas A. Lopez, a representative of Governor Erico B. Aumentado, municipal officials led by Mayor Luna Piezas, DAR Officials led by Provincial Agrarian Reform Officer II Johnson A. Sinco, DTI Community Relations Manager Blair Panong, and barangay captains of the participating barangays.
The Department of Agrarian Reform, through foreign funding agencies and the national government, extends livelihood programs to ARCs
On behalf of Representative Chatto, his chief of staff, former provincial board member Isabelito Tongco, commended the farmer-beneficiaries for enthusiastically and courageously organizing themselves for a livelihood purpose that will benefit them and their families even on lean season.
He assured the farmers of the congressman's continuous unwavering support to all their programs and projects.
He also thanked the barangay captains of the participating barangays that comprise CAMPVILPPAPINS which include barangays Cahayag, Matabao, Villanueva, Ilijan Norte, Pandan, Panadtaran, Pinayagan Norte, Pinayagan Sur and Panaytayon for supporting their respective constituents in launching the ARC.
Earlier, Representative Chatto and Governor Aumentado persistently lobbied with then DAR Secretary Roberto Pagdanganan to include the province of Bohol among other provinces under the ARC Program.
Indeed, this town was the first beneficiary in Bohol, followed by Catigbian, then Balilihan and Antequera.
