The Institutes Griffith Insurance Education Foundation is pleased to announce the launch of the Business Insurance Scholarship. This annual scholarship, awarded by Business Insurance, was created to introduce college and university students to the limitless opportunities that exist within the risk management and insurance (RMI) industry.

A wave of older insurance professionals will be retiring over the next several years, creating lots of openings and opportunities for young professionals to make names for themselves. And yet, many students are unaware of these opportunities. The Business Insurance Scholarship will serve as an innovative way to entice students into considering a career in risk management.
CEO of Business Insurance, Adam Potter says, “We created our U.S. Insurance Awards to fund scholarships to expose new and diverse talent to insurance careers. Students from HBCUs, community colleges & non-risk management majors already fall into our industry, now is the time to strategically recruit them”.

Business Insurance will be awarding eleven $3,500 scholarships to full-time, undergraduate students pursuing any field of study. Applicants must be in good academic standing, have a cumulative grade point average of 2.8 or higher, and demonstrate a willingness to participate in mentoring if selected as a recipient.

In addition to scholarship monies, recipients will be provided free access to two insurance-specific courses through The Institutes, a trusted knowledge leader for the insurance industry, and paired with a mentor from the RMI industry. Mentors will help provide insight into the industry as well as guidance for any students who are interested in joining this exciting field.
