CUPERTINO, CALIF. (PRWEB) FEBRUARY 03, 2020

Curriki, the CODiE award-winning education technology platform, today announced that professional golfer Brandon Wu has joined Maverick McNealy’s Birdies for Education (B4Ed) fundraising campaign. Birdies for Education, which has raised $485,000 to date, was created in 2019 by PGA Tour player Maverick McNealy to raise funds for edtech non-profit, Curriki.org. Through Birdies for Education, golf enthusiasts and education advocates pledge to donate for each birdie McNealy, and now Wu, make throughout the season.

“I want to thank everyone who has contributed to Birdies for Education and welcome my former Stanford University Golf teammate, Brandon, to the Birdies team,” said Maverick McNealy. “Brandon shares my passion for learning and giving back, so it was a natural fit to invite him to join the Birdies for Education mission. Together, we will crush our fundraising goal of $1M in 2020."

“We are thrilled to welcome Brandon Wu to Birdies for Education. Maverick’s leadership has built Birdies into a fundraising powerhouse for Curriki,” said Keith Kostrzewski, CEO, Curriki. “These two young men are so impressive on and off the course, driven to bring impact well beyond the game they play. With their passionate support for bringing high-quality learning experiences to all kids, we will make a difference in education one putt at a time.”

“It is so important for all kids to have a solid educational foundation so they can discover their passions and pursue them, just as I have,” said Brandon Wu. “I am honored to be part of the Birdies for Education fundraising campaign with Maverick.”

Both Maverick and Brandon started the 2020 calendar in impressive fashion. Maverick just had a career-high PGA Tour finish at the Farmers Insurance Open, finishing -8, placing 15th. This performance followed a nice start to the season at The American Express, where he finished in 37th at -13. McNealy currently sits at #71 on the FedEx Cup Leaderboard.

Wu also had a very strong performance at Farmers, where he held the Tournament lead on Friday, at -7. Brandon finished - 1 and placed 55th.
