Immediately after our Department of Tourism (DoT) launched the new slogan, the notorious Filipino crabs pulled out a 1950s tourism promotion ad of Switzerland with a headline – “It’s more fun in Switzerland.” Perhaps inspired by the November 2010 controversy of the junked “Pilipinas kay ganda” DoT ad campaign, the crabs started trying to pull down the “It’s more fun” brainchild of DoT secretary Mon Jimenez and his ad team.

hahaha!  paskang amawa.  mao nga bilib gyod bitaw kog pinoy.  di gyod malalis ang sense of humor.

while it's true that the phrase "it's more fun" is nobody's copyright, mas fit man gyod hinoon siya sa switzerland kay naay euphony gamay; gamay ra hinoon, pero ang 'n' ug 'fun' ug '-land' medyo nisibo, mora hinoon ug ni-rhyme, dugangan pa nga liquid consonant ang 'l' sa 'land'.  we cannot say the same thing about the '-ines' in philippines.

magkalibanga gyod hinoon ta kun gihimo pang 'it's more fins in the philippines'. ;D

libog bitaw ko nganong usbon pa.  it seems every administration wants to start all over again; wa hinoon tay continuity, morag way sense of history.  hasta currency, usob-usob ug design.  truly, 'wow philippines' was fine.  it could have stuck in the collective consciousness of tourists.
