The flag-carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) cancelled its morning service to Bangkok today and closely monitoring developments in the Thai capital before deciding whether to operate its evening service.
Flight PR 730, scheduled to depart Manila at 10:30 a.m., was called off, as was the return flight, PR 731, which was scheduled to depart Bangkok at 2:00 p.m.
Both flights were to utilize a wide-body Airbus A330-300, with a capacity of 302 passengers and 12 crew.
The evening service, PR 732, is slated to depart Manila at 7:05 p.m. Its return flight, PR 733, is scheduled to depart Bangkok at 11:20 p.m. Passengers on these services are being continuously apprised of the status of their flights.
A narrow-body Airbus A320 aircraft, capable of carrying 156 passengers and seven crew, is deployed on the evening service.
On Nov. 26, PAL cancelled both services to the Thai capital after the management of Bangkok Suvarnabhumi International Airport closed the facility, citing passengers' safety following the forcible takeover of the terminal by anti-government protesters.
The situation is still unresolved as of press time.
PAL passengers bound for Bangkok may contact the airline's 24-hour flight information telephone number 855-9999 for updates on the status of their flights. - PNA
