Lite Shipping Corporation launches its newest vessel M/V Lite Ferry 15, the second biggest addition to its present fleet of fully roll-on/roll-off passenger/cargo ferries. The 60.34-meter long and 827.83 gross registered tons vessel will soon augment the Cebu City-Ormoc City route as a daily ferry service.
M/V Lite Ferry 15 has a fully air-conditioned suite room, two cabins and well appointed air-conditioned tourist class facilities. It has also spacious non-aircon standard class and economy accommodations which can hold 552 passengers for the ever increasing passenger traffic of the said route.
Classified by MARINA as a rebuilt vessel, the recently rehabilitated/renovated ship from Japan is powered by two Akasaka engines (a total of 2,600 horsepower) and has a service speed of 12-13 knots and could carry 15 buses or trucks in her wide wagon deck.
M/V Lite Ferry 15 was formally inaugurated yesterday at the Pier 2 Port of Cebu City attended by top officials of the Department of Transportation and Communications, Philippine Ports Authority, Maritime Industry Authority and prominent local government officials and personalities.
Aside from Ormoc City, Lite Shipping Corporation is serving the ports of, Tagbilaran City, Tubigon, Getafe, Loon, Bohol via Argao, Cebu City to Ormoc City, San Carlos City via Toledo City, Larena, Siquijor, Plaridel, Misamis Occidental, and the Samboan, Cebu to Dapitan, Zamboanga del Norte.
Lucio E. Lim, Jr., president and CEO of Lite Shipping Corporation believes that M/V Lite Ferry 15 will be another vital contribution of the company in the promotion of the roll-on/roll-off ferry services and operations for the Strong Republic Nautical Highway program of the government and would also enhance the economic activities in the progressive island of Leyte.

Its reputation of having comfortable, clean and spacious passenger accommodations is therefore officially recognized by these government regulatory offices.
