Hi Everybody!
Me and my wife are going to spend 15 days in China from 01.06 till 15.06. We are planning to go to Beijing and Shanghai but we would also like to see a few other places. I know 2 weeks it's a very short time to visit BIG-GREAT China. We found a few places around Beijing and Shanghai that we might go to. Please have a look and let us know if it's worth.
1. Shanghaiguan (to start the trip and to get rest, relax for 2 days - see the Great Wall ending in the sea) or Beidaihe - which one will be better?
2. Suzhou (beautifull gardens, and also we would like to see also small towns: Zhouzhuang or Tongli)
3. Shanghai
4. Hangzhou
5. Nanking
6. Beijing
A) What do you think about the plan above? Let us know, pls if we should change this plan or add some other places.
B) We also think about Xi'an - should we go or not as is quite far away ?
C) Which currency is the best to take? Euro, Dollars or Pounds? Where do we change the money: bank or Foreign exchange bureau?
D) Is it better to book hotels/hostels before coming or to find it when we are there?
E) Which area in Beijing is the best to sleep? Quite close to the sights...
What's the best place to see the Great Wall? Maybe there are places with less tourists?
G) If you can check how can we get from the Beijing Capital Airport (arriving at 11.20 am) to Shanghaiguan or Beidaihe by train. From which railway station, what time we will depart from Beijing and arriving in Shanghaiguan or Beidaihe? It is really complicated to check for us from here but I found that there is some trains from Beijing to Qinhuangdao (and after there is not to far to get to Shanghaiguan or Beidaihe).
I know that there is lots of questions but I will really appraciate your HELP
