The province which continues to attract tourists, both domestic and foreign, should soon have a "clearing house" for proposed site development projects.
This surfaced as the top recommendation of the Provincial Tourism Council (PTC) to the Chatto administration following the successive opening of "ziplines" in the province.
"While every municipality would wish to develop their tourist attractions, this should be properly guided and evaluated," stressed lawyer Doy Nunag, PTC chairman during the first full council meeting attended by Gov. Edgar Chatto at Panda Tea Suites last Wednesday.
The statement of the PTC chair came following the reported plan of two other municipalities to establish their own "ziplines," an adventure activity pioneered in Danao town. It maybe noted that Loboc followed while Pilar and Dimiao are reportedly planning to put up the same attraction.
Nunag asked the support of the governor to enact legislation for the towns to have their proposed tourism development projects evaluated first by the PTC in order to avoid duplication of the activities which will later on result to cut-throat competition especially in its rates. - the bohol chronicle
