press releaseMake your summer productive. Join the Basic Tour Guiding Course offered by the Bohol Powerhouse Scholastics, Inc. (BPSI). The 24-day training course is registered with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and the Department of Tourism. BPSI is an accredited Tourism Training Center by the Department of Tourism.
An applicant should be at least a graduate of any 4-year course, physically fit and not more than 50 years old. Applicants are expected to be fluent in the English language and/or any other foreign language. If an applicant claims to be bilingual, he should be fluent in both the English and another foreign language. A general aptitude (IQ) exam will be part of the screening process to be administered by a testing center, the cost of which will be shouldered by the applicant. Deadline of the exam is April 30, 2012.
Applicants should submit at the BPSI Office the certified true copy of the Transcript of Records or a copy of Diploma as proof of finishing a 4-year course, a duly notarized Affidavit of Undertaking (the form can be secured from the BPSI office), certificate of good health issued by a government physician, birth certificate, 2 pcs. 2x2 and 3 pcs. 1x1 recent pictures (with collar and white background).
The training starts on May 14, 2012 until June 9, 2012 at the Bohol Powerhouse Scholastics, Inc. from Monday to Saturday. Deadline of requirements and training fee is May 4, 2012. The training is open to all interested individuals all over the region.
Once the applicants pass the course and have complied with all other requirements by both TESDA and DOT, they will receive a TESDA Tour Guiding Services National Certificate and a Certificate of Training/Completion which they can submit as part of the requirement for the Department of Tourism accreditation.
