Access to Eskaya Beach Resort & Spa not Restricted
« on: May 29, 2009, 07:46:56 PM »
The management of the high-end Eskaya Beach Resort & Spa took exception to allegations that easy access to its beach front property was restricted.

This reaction came in the wake of reports that beaches along the Tawala row of resorts and restaurants did not allow the movement of  people especially in the long stretch of shoreline from the Alona area up to Eskaya.

In an interview with Erwin Bacquial, spokesman of the high class resort, there was no truth to reports that Eskaya was one of those establishments that restricted the movement of people in its beach area.

The same interview yielded a positive response to a Post query if it were true that Gov. Erico Aumentado was blocked at the resort's entrance by a security guard. The governor was not allowed to go inside the resort because the guard did not recognize him.

Since it was very unfortunate for the ill-fated guard not to know the governor, the provincial executive did not insist on going inside.

The incident, although it happened two years ago, did create a mild furor when the issue of beach  movements were  imposed by resort owners in the Alona area.

For committing the blunder of not recognizing the governor, the Eskaya management lost no time in terminating the services of the security agency.

At the same time, the world class resort said that as part of its security concerns, it prohibited the movement of people during night time.

Since the high class villas are far from each other, the resort has made it a point to prohibit strangers from loitering in its beach front site during night time.

The Eskaya management said this restriction was requested by guests for fear that night prowlers may turn out to be bad elements who were out to kidnap them recalling the tragic incident that took place in Palawan several years ago. The Palawan incident involved the Las Palmas resort where guests mostly  foreigners were abducted by armed bandits belonging to the dreaded  Abu Sayaff.

In Bohol, the Eskaya resort  is the favorite hideaway of celebrities who wanted to enjoy complete privacy under a rustic environment.

Guests like Kris Aquino and family, Pops Fernandez, Claudine Barreto, John Lloyd  Cruz and many others who enjoyed the comfort and opulence of the place were recent guests.  Lately, the Filipina wife of Prince Jeffrey, brother of the sultan of Brunei, one of the richest monarchs in the world was Eskaya's valued customer.

A member of the exclusive “Small Luxury Hotels of the World”, the highest prized villa in the resort is the presidential suite which costs $500 dollars.

The name Eskaya refers to the known indigenous people found in the mountains of Duero and Guindulman.

Boutique style, the resort is known for its exclusivity. Architecture of the buildings which was done by Manuza and Associates is decidedly Filipino with a splash of modern amenities. The thatched villas or balay in the dialect, are significantly detached. These are built with sturdy construction materials, but the ample use of indigenous stuff for finishing like bamboo, cogon and wood are emphasized.

Since its opening two years ago, the resort was already featured in at least five glossy magazines not to mention the glowing accounts of broad sheet columnists who have visited the resort. The latest was a cover story of Lifestyle Asia Travel, a glossy magazine based in Manila.

The other night, Eskaya was featured in ABS-CBN travel documentary “Trip na Trip “hosted by Catherine de Castro. - Sunday Post

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
