BALAOD NI TUTOR UG CHATTO SA MALASAKIT CENTER:
Bohol Third District Rep. Kristine Alexie Tutor reported on her post that House Bill 5477 or the “Malasakit Program Act” was approved by the Lower House on third and final reading on Monday, November 18. The senior vice chair of the Committee on Health said she was “proud” it was passed. Once it becomes a law, more poor patients benefit nationwide.

HB 5477 is actually the final version reconciled from among the House bills of similar intent being filed. One of these, HB 01140, was co-authored by Bohol First District Rep. Edgar Chatto seeking to “institutionalize the Malasakit Centers in all accredited hospitals in the country.”
