My life before computer was playing basketball, biking, fishing, going to movies, tambay sa tindahan, girls watching and going out with friends. Strange how this computer isolate you from another human being. You could have a thousand friends but only in virtual reality. Could it be that human beings are so dependent now on computers . Then 50 years from now the Terminator scenarios are not far from reality..

Imagine through BUSINESS PROCESS OUTSOURCING..(BPO).. transcribe na imong mga diagnoses and prescription from a physician... So it might be no need of hospitals and care homes... If makaya pa sa balay na gani magpa lazer medication thorugh the computers...

life before computers was a typewriter.  there was the post office instead of the email.  there was telegram through rcpi and pt&t.  calling long distance was operator-assisted.  reading news was having a stack of newspapers which i disposed of at the end of the month by selling them for a few pesos to those ambulant buyers (those unique buyers who named the price but who, when i think them too young or too old to be doing such a thing, get to have my stack of newspapers anyway without payment.)  now there's news on the internet.

i had no backache then.  and yes, vrglguapo, there is less personal contact now because of the virtual world.

Life before the computer:

1) Overseas spouse through penpal, exchange of letter now through the chat room.
2) Sending money through money order, now online transfer.
3) Playboy magazine is for the privileged that can afford to subscribe, now just go to the porno sites and you can watch hard core sex live.
4) Drafting of building plans/architectural designs on a drafting board with compass and pencils, now there is AUTOCAD.
5) Shopping is hard because you have to bring bundles of money, now just swipe your credit/atm card.
6) To change an airline ticket you need to visit the office and they change your ticket, now just phone the travel agent/airline company and they send your IT on the email.
7) When you travel by driving you take the map, now there is GPS.
8) When you want information you consult the Encyclopedia, now there is google.
9) When you check your spelling you consult Thesaurus, now all word processors are equipped with Speller check program.

Here are some effects of the computer on human lives.

A man and wife were both in an Internet business, but it was the husband who truly lived, ate and breathed computers. His wife finally realized how bad it gotten when one day she was scratching his back, and he said "No, not there. Scroll down a little."

A child was watching his mother sift through and delete a long list of junk E-mail on the computer screen.
"This reminds me of the Lord's Prayer," the child said.
"What do you mean?" the mother asked.
"You know.  That part about 'deliver us from E-mail."

IF ONLY LIFE COULD BE LIKE A COMPUTER!

If you messed up your life, you could press "Alt, Ctrl, Delete" and start all over!
To get your daily exercise, just click on "run"!
If you needed a break from life, click on "suspend".
Hit "any key" to continue life when ready.
To get even with the neighbors, turn up the sound blaster.
To "add/remove" someone in your life, click settings and control panel.
To improve your appearance, just adjust the display settings.
If life gets too noisy, turn off the speakers.
When you lose your car keys, click on "find".
"Help" with the chores is just a click away.
You wouldn't need auto insurance. You'd use your boot diskette to recover from a crash.
We could click on "send" and the kids would go to bed immediately.
To feel like a new person, click on "refresh".
Click on "close" to shut up the kids and spouse.
To undo a mistake, click on "back".
Is your wardrobe getting old? Click "update".
If you don't like cleaning the litter box, click on "delete".
