Anyway, my point is before clicking the link say by hovering the mouse on that link (be it URL text or image), the user can simply tell whether it is a legitimate or valid website by looking at the status bar below. The actual hyperlink could not be the same as the URL text embedded in the email. AND even if I click that link and being fetched to the "fake website",
I still believe that it is still a better practice not to input any sensitive information like password, CC#, etc. on that site. This is the same as "dont even attempt" to open an email attachment from the sender whom you don't know. He has to verify either by email or by phone with the (financial) institution that he/she is a member of. One of anti-phising solutions is what they called "social re-engineering". Meaning, there has to be a public awareness about "phising" or in layman's phrase - gathering sensitive informations through a fake website.
By the way, though I have still to check this, some link images could not be right click by the mouse like macro media images (flash).
