The Confederation of Boholanos, USA and Canada Incorporated or Conbusac expects to gather hundreds of Boholanos from all over the United States and Canada during the 12th Biennial Convention dubbed as Sleepless in Seattle 2009 on July 2 to 6 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Bellevue, Washington- -a suburb of Seattle.
The Bohol Association of Washington State, Incorporated or BOAWAS, under Nat Calacat as president and Mely Cagaanan as vice-president, will host the convention.
The gathering is aimed at providing an opportunity for US-based Boholanos to meet and know each other.
Conbusac president Carlos Cagaanan has invited Governor Erico Aumentado and wife, Grenie, to be the guests of honor during the occasion.
Cagaanan asked the governor to be the keynote speaker during the gala night on July 4.
Cagaanan has also requested Aumentado to extend the invitation to key officials in the provincial government and the local government units whom the governor believe can assist Conbusac in formulating strategies that would benefit the less-privileged Boholanos back home.
He expects the governor and the dignitaries that he would recommend to participate in the Council of Leaders meeting on July 3 and during the general convention called Tigum Bol-anon on July 4.
Conbusac and BOAWAS have been supportive to the programs of the Office of the Provincial Veterinarian.(AV)
