BOHOL :: off-the-beaten track (photos)
« on: October 25, 2007, 09:11:26 PM »
Photos: RV

The long  break is not complete without new sights to discover in the island.

Sure enough, my robust passion for off-the-touristy path and daredevil speed in the high road brought me to a secluded waterfalls in Candijay, Bohol. I had to walk barefoot for two-hours in mud and puddle (half-rice paddies and half in the jungle-like reserve just before the waterfalls) The little waterfalls, about five of them, were a sight to, well, appreciate as I went up the river until the mighty Can-umangtad waterfalls.

Days after the visit, over beer, my younger brother narrated that it was the area of a shoot-out between the rebels and the military not so long ago. The barrios in the border are said to be rebel-infested. Yay!

Small wonder why the place was so Jurassic. The 2 km. radius was untouched.

Can-umangtad Falls :: Candijay

mighty baby!

Sagnap Spring :: San Vicente, Pilar

Canawa Spring :: Candijay

Lake Malinao (dam) :: Pilar

fern sa Malinao Dam :: Pilar

haiku

dead-end :: sunken stairs

Pilar Dam baby!

public garden

ting tanum na. yehey!

Salamat RV sa pag share sa maong mga nice shots. Gi hago-an gyud ni nimo. I envy your adventure.

RV, Payao is one of the most fascinating and spectacular place I have seen. It is just in Duero, an uphill baranggay. To get there, you have to cross a small creek which passes in the middle of the road. That was long ago, when I was in college when I last visited there. Maybe by now, a bridge is built.

There you in their terrace, it is over looking the Mindanao sea, where you can see the blue sky and the blue sea joined without border or horizontal line. It is like "panagminyo sa langit ug dagat". Sometimes, you will feel disoriented by looking at it. Your mind will be confused as to where is up or down.

Hope you will visit this place someday and post photos. Hope you dont mind this personal request RV. Really, it's a photographer's challenge, but you have to go there on a clear day to capture the maximum view.

WoW RV!

I like and love those photos!  Never been in Pilar although the first man I dated was from that place....Nice and wonderful springs from Candijay! Do you have one from Antequera? The Mag-aso falls? Was interested to be there the last vacation but they warned me for what reason...? Please...if you have time to make photos from Inabanga river and the new river cruise there...I would be thankful.  Are you a professional  photographer? You got it boy!

Probably the Katunggan and the payaos. Hunasan in Mangga is a perfect place for photography because it is in "U" shape and facing the sunset. The manggrove forest would be spectacular on a golden sunset.

Manga Fish Port.
there is that not-so-ordinary character of the place.
