Photos: RVThe long break is not complete without new sights to discover in the island.Sure enough, my robust passion for off-the-touristy path and daredevil speed in the high road brought me to a secluded waterfalls in
Candijay, Bohol.
I had to walk barefoot for two-hours in mud and puddle (half-rice paddies and half in the jungle-like reserve just before the waterfalls) The little waterfalls, about five of them, were a sight to, well, appreciate as I went up the river until the mighty Can-umangtad waterfalls.
Days after the visit, over beer, my younger brother narrated that it was the area of a shoot-out between the rebels and the military not so long ago. The barrios in the border are said to be rebel-infested. Yay!
Small wonder why the place was so Jurassic. The 2 km. radius was untouched.
