It's beautiful. I hope to see Anda's beatiful views someday. But a lot of the people who go to Boracay (esp Manila peeps), go there to party kay kuno daghan man mga bars ug discos didto. Let's hope Anda stays the way it is.

And is quite a very beautiful contrast.... diverse flora and fauna in the upper regions, as well as marine biodiversity. Very very nice combination. I do hope nga maayo pagka manage ang eco tourism.... as in eco tourism in the best sense of the word.

The theory behind bugnaw SE-E manong bugnaw na siya is there is an underground aquifer that is running from the limestone mountains of Anda and exits at the foot of the beach. It is a sort of underground freshwater river and the exit is around 50 meters off-shore. Just like in Caingit Beach nga naay freshwater gikan sa cave nga mo gawas. The only difference is sa Bugnaw SE-E, bugnaw gyud nang mo gawas kay gikan man sa mountains & forests ang source.

They are called offshore freshwater aquifers. I have seen a documentary about this from Nat. Geo. that Japanese researchers are in search of this rare aquifers and collecting water samples. They are studying the composition of these waters as source for bottled mineral water.

Moreover, my aunt (mother's sister) Mrs. Gregoria S. Ancog who is now living with her daughter in California is a former Schools Supervisor in Anda and Candijay (the desciplinarian as they call her). She is captivated by the beauty of Anda that it is always in her agenda to visit Anda everytime she goes for vacation. There she will meet old friends and teachers para mag ngisi-ngisi.

Anda, Bohol
Photographed by Michael Ligalig

Uh! I'll just close my eyes now and see myself swimming this clear sea and when getting out, I can taste salty water running from my head down to my toes. While still wet, I walk for a mile and just enjoy this powdery sand through my feet. And then back to the water again and swim, rest by the water until the sun sets down.

I am curious about Cogtong. According to legend, it was named after the "Cogtong". It is a big animal that lives in the river. It will swallow a big amount of water and it looks like a whale. According to old folks there are 7 cogtongs who once lived in cogtong river. Maybe this is a prehistoric creature.

Ang cogtong mao na ang grouper fish nga kon sa ato pinulungan gitawag nila og fugapo. it grows 100 kilos or more and has a maximum lenght of 2-3 meters.

Fugapo ra man diay ning koleraha ni.

Anda, Bohol
Photographed by Michael Ligalig

Wow na Wow!

Man, you have no idea what American college students are missing out on. Instead of going to Mexico or Florida or the Bahamas for Spring Break, they should go to Bohol.

And bask in the waters of Anda, Panglao etc.
