The Bohol ChronicleThe Association of Barangay Captains (ABC) under its president, Kagawad Faro Cabalit, says Tagbilaran is not a "crime city" as projected by the local media.
City Kagawad Faro Cabalit, city ABC president led the barangay captains in denouncing media reports saying that the city is a crime city. The stand of the barangay officials came to project that the city remains to be a peaceful place to stay.
However, a day after issuing such statement, the city's barangay captains discussed of buying firearms to arm themselves.
The discussion raised a contradicting stand as far as the peace and order condition in the city is concerned.
"While saying that the city is not a crime city, yet, they want the barangay captains to be armed," such was a glaring contradiction, says a radio listener who joined a random survey conducted by dyRD's "Inyong Alagad" program last Thursday.
The radio survey registered a high rating of 93 percent against the move to arm barangay captains.
