We should not expect the police solely to provide us blanket security. The community also has as much role in maintaining peace and order by being vigilant.
Did you read what I read in today's papers? In Japan, a 16-year old girl slits the throat of her policeman father for some undetermined reasons yet. In Brazil, 52 cops were rounded up for drug trafficking. Last week, the chief of a robbery investigation team somewhere in Tokyo was arrested for snatching a lady's bag...
There, even in countries where policemen are supposedly role models and highly respected, they occasionally breach the law... Of course, these are exceptions rather than the rule. Let's not make a harsh judgment of the whole from the few.
Anywhere in the world, the community has a responsibility to police the police.
