I don't like eating seaweeds. But when bioethanol from seaweeds
could be properly distilled, would it make a fine drink, too?  ;D

It is wrong because this will be GMO-based, employing techniques that will eventually destroy the whole area.

The proponent of this project has no other motive but profit. He doesn't care whether Boholanos would have a future.

Profit mao raman jud nay importante. Bisan pa ug perting hagoa ug pananum sa mga seaweed farmers diha dili mailaha ang kwarta adto paingon sa tag iya ug nagmugna aning ethanol plant. You think makaginansya ang seaweed farmer ani? heck no. Dili man ni sa ingon the more daghan ma produce daghan pud ug ginansya, ang profit ani is dili sa producto mismo kundi ang subsidy sa goberno, sa mga grants ug awards sa mga organization who make our earth clean and green. If it happen to be GMO ang seaweed mahulog pa nga magka utang utang ug dako ang mananumay.

Just my simplistic thoughts :

Bohol is an island with groups of little islets around it.

We have a LOT of shallow waters

We already have a LOT of sea weeds.

If we can harness what we have naturally to create jobs, improve livelihood and alleviate poverty without robbing future generations, then what's the harm ?

I guess its just the ways and means that the "system" that goes into it is the problem. There's no utopian method as most, if not all, will have to sacrifice *something* to get whatever the optimum desirable outcome is. Usually the max profit at the expense of the naive and vulnerable population which will be easily taken advantaged of.  :-(
