It's just nature. It is just having its way of changing. And it means the world is slowly wearing.

People has this instinctive mentality of finding 'plausible, divine' reasons to explain things and catastrophe that are beyond what their mind can perceive. They have this mentality of channeling explanations up to the heavens, which would eventually 'end' confusion and doubts, but triggers debates and fear instead.

If God is a little autocratic, he would have been slapping all those faces who accused him of things for so long.

The same principle applies to the beyond-rational-thinking explanations to the 'odd' things that inflict people and caused unexplainable deaths before the times when modern medicine discovered the root causes.

i'd rather believe that it's more of cleansing than punishment.  i cannot imagine a just god who's been guiding us on the road to salvation since the beginning of time to be so cruel as to punish his own creation with destruction.  it is easier to believe that we are punishing ourselves by not heeding his warnings.

It has happened before. People just weren't aware of the intensity and immensity of the damages because it wasn't like it is now. We are in the digital age and we get to have updates real-time all over.

I'm kinda annoyed with this end-of-the-world talks. Oh wait. End of the world started B.C. anyway. Bother.

ya, and you can't help connect why things happen... like what happened before in japan, the live human experiments and dolphin slaughter... so sad.

i will address the scientific (seismological) aspect: Japan lies in the Ring of Fire, which embodies the intensity of tectonic plate shifting , resulting in earthquakes , which in turn generates tsunamis. the japanese have constantly been hurled with tsunamis and earthquakes throughout its history. the problem here, is that , the area of interest has a nuclear reactor in imminent phases.

by contrast, the damage seen in japan pales in comparison to the tsunami that devastated Banda Aceh, Indonesia back in 2004, with casualties mounting over 167,000 (out of a population of 219,000).

Natural calamities are works of nature. They are not Gods will ,but He  controls everything to happen or not.

most of the time. pero , not all the time, WarWick. Sometimes some diseases are idiopathic (no known cause) and symptomology does not make sense.

nothing is solid, not even in science, which is ever-changing. same as in medicine.
