Pinoy Wins 14 Million in Lotto and Spends it All in 3 Months

How does one spend fourteen million pesos in three months and end up buried deep in debts after? Well, Lotto winner Dionie Reyes sure knows how to do it. He revealed that despite warnings and admonitions from his wife and family to live his life easy and spend his winnings wisely, he gave away money to friends and complete strangers, gambled away and drowned himself drunk to his heart's content.

And just when he found himself broke and sold his property to pay his debts, he had to have a heart surgery without a centavo on his hands and had to thank the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office for shouldering the hospital bills. He says its a lesson learned the hard way and wants to warn lottery winners of his demise lest it happens to them, too.

How can a person spend 14 million pesos in 3 months? Sakit atong dughan og maka dungog ani'a oy!

Spend wisely gajod, and try to (i know it's hard nowadays) be more fiscally conservative kai sus intawn, money does not grow on trees.

Mag trabaho pa jud ta ani, and it is very hard work!

We all know its easier to spend money when you didn't spend your blood, sweat and tears to earn it. Luoy pud. Lami unta ug kanang makadaog ug Lotto, naa sad pakapin nga financial counselling. Or i-balaod ba kaha nga naa jud portion para sa iyang mga anak mopaingon sa college fund. :-)

this lotto winner died without a centavo. nabasahan nako ni sauna pa. it also came out in PDI. sort of collection of stories of lotto winners who died broke.

this is usually a common scenarios of people who don't know where they will put their instant millions..
often times, those who aren't prepared enough for those big things becomes shattered along the way.

heart surgery was not right for this guy. brain surgery would have been more appropriate!

there are poor people out there in more need than this guys surgery-he shopuld have been refused the surgery and give it to someone more deserving.. Many would have much better respect for thier families and themselves.

just my opinion. I have never had that sort of money and probably never will. If I did happen to win lotto i certainly wouldnt blow it all like that!
