The celebrated issue regarding the financial accounting of the Philippine Councilors' League funds during the previous administration of BM Brigido Imboy re-emerged after one of the new PCL officers authored a resolution asking for transparency on the expenses of the previous administration.

PCL-Bohol president Ramonito Torrefranca said that it was Jagna councilor Nimfa Lloren who authored the resolution asking the previous administration to submit until November 11, 2010 an accounting on how the PCL budget was spent last administration.
       
However, Imboy failed to submit any item of the said accounting being asked and rumors have it that Imboy allegedly resisted submitting any accounting.

Torrefranca denied the report saying that Imboy informed him that the accounting is ready. However, Imboy was disgusted on the actuations of some new PCL officers.
         
Torrefranca said that the previous PCL administration already turned over around P53,000 surplus. He said that the budget of the PCL is not really that huge considering that the subsidy from the national office is only around P400,000 and the expenses are quite many.

During their monthly meeting last Tuesday, Councilor Danilo Bandala raised a motion to close the issue on accounting. However, one of the members asked the group not to do such action considering that the author of the resolution was absent.

For his part, Torrefranca said that he will just wait for Imboy to submit the accounting.

Torrefranca who is a regional official of the PCL said that in the spirit of transparency, he is submitting a monthly financial report to the body.

Meanwhile, though Imboy was not directly contacted by the Chronicle to air his side. It was Mayor Mae Imboy who answered the issue in behalf of her husband.

Mayor Imboy said that they are still on the process of finishing the financial accounting. The previous staff of the PCL were gone and so the accounts in the computers are no longer available.

"We are doing it manually and we started collecting vouchers," Mayor Imboy concluded. (Anthony Ranoa Aniscal)
