Another publicity con disconcerted efforts! Were there public consultations being made to this effect? I doubt if these leaders are thinking about the longterm effect of this project. The problem with these people in power is that they all seem to welcome this big project with 'OPEN ARMS' for their selfish interest without really minding how many years will this amount be paid by our helpless Boholanos. Kalooy! Granting that the premise of boosting tourism industry holds true, the likelihood of destroying the now intact social and moral values of Boholanos is highly at stake. Will the Boholanos just welcome such a gargantuan project of Erico with 'OPEN LEGS'?

The intellegent people didn't give me intellegent feedbacks." Sounds like what GWBush uttered about US invasion in Iraq which was a flop. They could just utter all those words so easily to pass the blame to others. Pero kitang mga Boholano ang mag suffer in the end kay magbayad man ta sa ilang mga binuang, their inefficiencies.

If oil-rich Dubai is putting on hold mega construction projects like the Trump Towers and equally oil-rich Russia is suspending the construction of the world's tallest skyscraper Russian Tower because of the global financial crisis, I can't imagine whose deep pocket Arroyo can reach to push through with the Panglao international airport.

With national treasury raided by the fertilizer scam, the paper-bag pay-offs, and all other political shenanigans that places this country in the top ranking of corrupt governments, I wonder what strong economic fundamentals they speak of that will brace us for the hard times ahead?

We need more irrigation canals, not runways. People need rice, not cake.

Moingon mog walay airplano? Naay China og Russian Federation nga nanggi-hulat lag kanus-a mahuman nang airport. Og bahin man galing sa kalikopan o kon "environment", PAGMATA NAMO UY!

Unya pun-an pa gyud anang mga POWER RANGER . Kanang dili taga dinhi bitaw!

Even if I'm not living Bohol permanently,  I will give my comments on the construction  of Panglao International Airport.

I do believe that it will benifet to the people of Bohol because tourist will not be anymore passing
Cebu and Tagbilaran City will be the new business center of Visayas. Bohol is known throughout
the world for its chocolate hills, tarsier, falls,  white beaches and many more. If  there will be an international airport in Panglao, tourists from any parts of the globe  will not be diverted to any
place in the Visayas except Bohol.

The new International Airport of Panglao will invites more tourist coming to the
country.

NA MURA MAN PUD UG MUBYAHE KA 3 KA ORAS FROM PANGLAO TO TAGBILARAN.......

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PANGLAO AND TAGBILARAN? i mean, sa oras ba.....   layo ra?

kini si erico ug edgardo ba, si gov ba ni ug congressman? pagmata na mo mga "honorable" officials of the provincial government.. basaha ning tibouk thread basin na pay paglaum nga mausab ng inyong mga hunahuna.. i doubt if you'd see one who is for the project..

last year sa gatambay pa kos bohol, nagsugod na man ni silag clearing operations.. nagpapicture pa ni si erico with the bulldozer..

baga jud ug nawong.. pila baya na ektaryas nya usa ra to ka bulldozer magclearing.. what a pr guy..

I am happy to share that the construction of the Panglao Bohol International Airport will soon start.

The detailed engineering and design is already awarded to the same consulting firm that designed the NIA 2 (Centennial) terminal.

Construction will start sometime in August 2009.

MIAA General Manger Cusi reaffirmed their commitment to fund the the bulk of the project (Php 3 Billion). DOTC's share (Php 1 Billion +++) is already in its 2009 budget.

Along with the construction of the airport will come the necessary parallel infrastructure projects -- improvement of water supply, improvement of electric power supply, improvement of roads to meet traffic demand, expansion of the bridge connecting Panglao to mainland Bohol.

The continuing operation of the airport in Tagbilaran is no longer feasible for AIR SAFETY reasons. Expanding it would cost more than building at least two international airports.

PILA MAN IMOHA ANI?

The revised time line of activities for the construction of the Panglao Bohol International Airport, as prepared by the detailed engineering and design consultant, will be presented to the President in a dinner meeting at Malacanan Palace on Dec. 3.

Our fellow Boholanos, our stakeholders, and all those who care for Bohol's future can be rest-assured by the fact that the Provincial Leadership is looking at the bigger picture in the implementation of the airport project.

We totally agree with the concerns raised -- the urgency of having a reliable water system to meet the increasing demands, environmental impact, improved vehicular access to Panglao Island, and other legitimate issues. Yes, these issues can and are actually being addressed simultaneously (rather than dealing with the water supply issue first, as suggested by some distinguished members of this forum) especially that we cannot afford to delay the operation of the new airport in view of the continuing dangers we experience while using the Tagbilaran Airport.

DAKO JUD IMOHA ANI NO?   EXPEDITION NA PUD... SUMO NA ISSUE UG CRV,,   DAAN NA PUDDDD.

I wonder why there are those who make personal comments against those who support the construction of the Panglao Airport. It doesn't make your argument against the airport any stronger at all, nor does it add any merit to your position. (LOL)

Because most of us are hiding behind the cloak of anonymity, its so easy for us to bash and malign those who do not share our position on the issue. Too bad.

The way I see it, the Panglao airport will become a reality sooner or later. There may be disadvantages, there may be adverse impacts on the environment, there may be social issues that will be to be dealt with... but the important thing is to push our leaders to do something to mitigate and address these identified issues.

Yeah, if there is really a better place to construct the airport other than Panglao, that place would have been identified already 20 years ago. How come there's none after all this time?

Flatland in mainland Bohol. Can anyone please identify a 150-200 hectare flatland in mainland Bohol that is not devoted to agriculture and food production? Are we willing to lose 150-200 hectares of food producing land to convert it into an airport?

How far are we willing to let Boholanos starve just so the tourists will not be driven away from Panglao?

that is why there are threads like this to express one's opinion......   that, i think is not a question anymore... unless we are all morons and will just stand, wait and see what other people are trying to do without the opinion of the masses.........

na man galiy second opinion ang doctorss...   mukonpirma man gali ta unsa katinuod ug nay mugawas storya suwahi sa atomg na andan.....   kani pa kahang kinahanglan gastuan ug kwarta sa gobyerno ang dili hisgutan??//

nuon,   kanang mga tao siguro nga way pakialam ug magkinaunsa ta tanan,   mao ray angay di mutingog....

NAA BA KOY PUNTO O WALAAAAAAAAAAAA?

basin ang gipasabot ni dot kadtong tubag ni renegade. i can be wrong...apan, ang ubang mga tubag-opinyon dinhi di man atake-personal kay gahisgot man lang kita sa isyu. kung duna man galing kitay nalakbitang nga ngalan ug posisyon sa gobyerno, di man kini atake sa ilang pagkatawo kundi reaksyon lamang sa ilang mga aksyon ug abot sa ilang trabaho. di man mahimo nga magpaka-buta-bungol na lang kita sa mga hitabo sa palibot; ug kung gikinahanglan nga ipabati kini sa hingtungdan ang maong isyu, natural lamang maghisgot kita'g mga posisyon ug mga tawo diin nalambigit ang nahisgotang isyu...ang-ang mag og atong i-apil sa hisgot si bin laden kung panglao airport atong gilalisan...lol
