Local radio stations were issued a stern warning on not to become as vehicle in the campaign the illegal numbers game of swertres.
The warning was issued by PNP Prov'l Director P/Supt. Constantino Barot, Jr. as part of the continued drive against swertres in the province.
In his letter addressed to the local radio stations, the PNP director said that Camp Dagohoy has monitored that "unscrupulous individuals are buying airtime from radio stations purposely to broadcast tips for swertres."
The PNP director asked the radio stations' management to "deny these individuals from buying airtime." In so doing, this will eliminate their means of broadcasting "swertres tips" through the radio stations.
These tips aired on radio can influence people to gamble, according to the letter dated Nov. 21, 2011 signed by P/Supt. Julius Cesar Gornez as PNP deputy provincial director for administration.
