LTO Staff Shot Dead in Tagbilaran

A contractual employee of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) was gunned down in front of said office last Tuesday.

The victim was identified as Apolinario Reyes.

Police said the victim was about to park the vehicle he impounded during an operation conducted in Cortes town when the lone gunman approached the victim and pumped a bullet into the head.

Police investigator, SPO3 Reinerio Añana said they suspect personal grudge as one of the motives of the killing. Drivers of impounded vehicles were being interrogated by the police to shed light on the identity of the suspect behind the latest killing incident in the city. - - The Bohol Chronicle

He was a summer employee and a fixxer as well so money is involved for sure. I had posted this earlier on the day that it had happened.

Grazie until now his candle still burns and beside it is a cross and a potted tree right out front of the LTO.

The bus has since been moved from what I hear.

He had made plenty people mad as he was over charging for fines. caught on him was around 38.000.00 pesos in his pockets.

The buzz buzz about what it is was a hired to kill. This morning his plant, cross, and candle were removed from the place in which he had taken the bullets fataly that ended up taking his life..

Thanks, Precious for the update. 

He may have done something wrong but still he should have been prosecuted and not killed in that manner.  I hope the killer will be caught soon and brought to justice.

I agree no one deserves to die for theft especially that of almost 900 dollars. No one deserves to die for lower crimes less then murder but perons in my book as I have always said if pre meditated, or aggravated murder then I do say I for an eye.

My view is that  if we go for "an eye for an eye",there will be no end to violence.  It is not our right as victims to curtail a life of a human being, no matter what the crime may be. That's the reason why we have laws. If some people wronged us gravely, then we report to the authorities but we shouldn't take matters into our own hands.

Precious, what do you mean by "sideline for hire to kill"?  Are you talking about the death penalty or the criminal activities of people?  But then again it can't mean a criminal activity if it's within the law.  Kindly expound what you mean by that.

What you heard that there are many people in the Phils is for the restoration of the death penalty is correct, but there are as many people who opposed on it either.  Meaning, there's a mixed feeling about the issue.  That's probably why it was never easy to restore it once it was abolished, I believed, in 2006.
