Benne San,

I tried to call my parents today, but without success. There is no ring-tone and it seems that Cruztelco is out of service. I will try again at 11:45 tonight (Saudi Time) which is 4:45 Philippine time. It is always my habit to call them on my birthday. I will let you know by tomorrow then, about the house.

Hi Macky,

My wife has found an apartment at a very convenient location, just across the gate of the school. If everything goes as planned, they'll move in by month-end.

When they say "clueless" it sounds so hopeless to me.  Syaro na pod "clueless" jud na kita man gani just reading from the news and from Bene san's account, we can somehow have clue kong kinsa.  All they have to do is to pursue the lead.  or maybe they are just saying as a ploy?

I think the couple has an idea who the culprits were or who could point to their identities, but proving it is another thing. Along with the 240K taken inside the bag were bank books that showed the hefty stash of the couple. I don't know if they reported this to the police, but if no punitive action is taken against the robbers, I am sure they will strike again.

Please pray that our transfer at the end of the month will be done smoothly.

Actually, Bohol still seems comparatively safer than other places, basta di lang ka mo-resist kung butang o kwarta lang ilang kinahanglan. And we just have to hope that the police will do their job deligently to apprehend the culprits.

Here in Japan, naa na'y daghan copycats sa 25-year old nga laki nga naghurumintado ug nanunggab sa busy street sa Tokyo, claiming 7 innocent lives. Three months earlier, another young man ran amok at a train station near my place, stabbing two people to death. This gruesome incident apparently triggered the more horrific incident in Tokyo. The other day, dunay baje nanunggab sa train station sa Osaka. Another youngster threatening to attack leisure-goers at Disneyland. Maka-paranoid na kung naa ka sa crowd, kay di ka kahibawo kung kinsa'y bu****-bu**** nga naas imong kilid.

There are people in our country who commit crimes because of economic desperation, which is still no excuse. But here in Japan, people commit deadly crimes out of total desperation in life, finding no consolation even if they are able to eat three times a day and still have some for recreation. It's the worst kind of despair, because they think that just because their lives are empty, others have no reason to be hopeful, and kill them.

This is just gonna be another avenue for corruption, BNC.  Or basin na bias lang ko kay right now I am reading this history book of the Kikuyu, one of the two fighting tribes of Kenya (the other one being the Luo, the tribe of Obama's father).  When they had that system, the police became more corrupt.  When Jomo Kenyatta became the leader, one of the many things he did first was to abolish that ID system.  In our case, kinahanglan i fix sa ang foundation sa atong mga morals before we can effectively implement this system.  Naa na dayon mga fake IDs manggawas or di kaha bayran lang ang mga polis para makasulod sa province without IDs.  In the meantime, it would cost tons of money - taxpayers' money to have this implemented.

i agree nga daghan pa jud mga pros and cons nga angay tan-awon. pero para nako depende na sa tig implement. kung corrupt jud na siya, wala jud tay mahimo. corruption is rampant anywhere in the world. even the world's super nations have corrupt people too but still they were able to implement their system. everything that our government will do always need money.
