Amazing to think that Bohol before was its own republic at one time ago.

Please you Filipino abroad do not ever forget your family roots and heritage. Sometimes you see Pilipino becoming Americanized and I have friends Filipina in the states who do not want to come back Philippines again.

I also had American Navy friends who were from Philippines and one would always get mad at me if i ever mentioned how kind his country is back home. his words were "DO NOT SAY THAT AGAIN IT's AN EMBARRASSING PLACE FOR ME!"

I was so shocked when he shouted it at me in an angered tone. Just remember how nice it is to be in a country that has services that are good to you due to a good tax system that works in servicing the people.

In Philippines it is not so fortunate as foreigners that we are given the same protection services and dignity that you are receiving abroad.

Here American even if married are not allowed dual citizenship or naturalization as you are granted abroad. Other countries are allowed to have dual. Americans are allowed to extend up to 18 months and then must exit for one hour or 24 hours and can re-enter here. Married Americans with Filipine citizens are able to avail of permanent residency.

Yes' Happy Birthday America!!!

I miss the timber carnival, cotton candy, bar b ques and what not we do have over in the states as it is not the same way in how independance day is cellebrated here on June 12th.

In this province you do not even know it is a holiday unless you go to a government office and it is closed.

When I sworn in to become a naturalized U.S. citizen, tears rolls down on my cheeks, tears of joy, unexplainable mixed emotions had shaken my innermost being; thank you U.S.A, this country has been so good to me.
But to all filipinos just to let you know, my heart still belong to Pilipinas, the land of my birth.
I never get tired of going to the Philippines  to visit,  the neighborhood, relatives and the food of course.
The last time I visited; I was sweeping the front of the house using a coconut broom and the neighbors said ; may bag-o sila nga maid dinha?..hahahhaha
Last 4th, I was working though 12 hours shift; busy but I love my job at least all my patients were  all right.
Many times I was asked by the patient or family; where you came from?, I answered proudly, "from the Philippines" sometimes I even asked in return, "how do you like my tan? it's natural, I was born with it"  hahahaha,

My friend it's not my cat it's Ms.da Binsi Cat. You wanna catnap my cat Bootsie heheheh bet my husband be really mad of you lol. He spend lot;s of money on my cat.He never even let Bootsie out.
About kidnapping I mean catnapping I actually catnap my landlady cat in Davao heheheh.I move in other apartment and I can't bear to think I gonna leave my landlady cat  behind she is sort of not caring  that poor cat anyway. She claim it just a stray cat.The cat stay with me all the time.So one day I put her on the bag and catnap her.I am catnapper myself lol. I am doing the right thing then because I care so much of that cat.If I leave her behind I think the landlady will starve the poor cat.

You sound like a very sweet and funny person to know statesville!

Let me share with you something funny that occurred last 4th with one of my patients.
I went to check this particular patient, 63 years old white American lady, she was in bed watching the news about Michael Jackson.

As I was checking her 3 lumen central line inserted through her right jugular vein, so I can infuse her next dose of IV antibiotic, she looked at me and say, "Can I ask you a question?"

I said, "Sure, go ahead" I was thinking maybe it's a medical question as I'm used to that though.

She said, "What will Elvis Presley say to Michale Jackson, his son-in-law, when they meet?"
I was dumb-founded for a while, I did not expect her to ask me that question.

Then I said, "I really don't know, possibly, Elvis still holds unto his title as King of rock and roll while Jackson will stick to his title as King of Pop, they might as well have a showdown"
My patient just cracked up laughing. hahahaha

We should always be proud of being a Filipino.  Sometimes, people wronged  me if I am Latina.  Not that there's anything wrong with Latina but there's just a sense of pride to tell them that, "I am a Filipino!"

A group of volunteer workers from my parish asked me if we could go to a Filipino store not so far from our place.  They wanted to have lunch there but I warned them what they had in that store is just a small eatery.  They said they didn't mind at all.  So we agreed to all go Friday noontime for our, kind of, 4th of July celebration.  The night before that, I called that store/eatery and told them that a group of about 15 people will go to their store/eatery the next day and to make sure they have pansit and lumpia.  Friday's lunch date was so nice.  One lady brought her parents and children.  Most of us had combo meal of pansit and lumpia and some had caldereta, lechon kawali, fried tilapia with the head still on (the eww and eek scream of some ladies!).  Of course we had halo-halo!  One guy in the group who used to serve in the military in Subic Bay said, you Filipinos are one of the happiest and nicest people on Earth!  That made me a proud Filipino some more!

Nakasuway ko anang third shift, more than once kay lagi

Several weeks ago, i volunteered to do a night round; part of our required volunteer hours. 5 hours at the weekend. 8p - 1am. hehehe, dili pood bad, very quiet. From 8p till 11p, its hectic. But from 12 onwards, its quiet. pts are mostly sedated, lol. and nurses are in their desks playing solitaire.
ako may gi boss-boss around. hahahaha. :P

Beautiful experiences.

I was part of 4 other 2nd year meds that had volunteered that night. One of the nurses, i can't ever forget her because she was a easy-going lady. Ingoon siya namo, "You know im going to order you guys around. Only time in our lives that we're the bosses."

hahahaha. ka lingaw pood.
Seriously, thanks so much to all the nurses out there.
Notice jud ko---if we're nice to the nurses, the nurses are nice back. Will bend backwards for you. But if you're an asss to the nurses, oh they'll make your rounds a living helll. Promise you that. Ive seen it happen.

Normally I work on the skilled floor, patients who are ready
for their rehab (Physical or  Occupational therapy) after surgery, but sometimes
I'm on Med-Surg or Oncology floor.

I love my job, though, most of all I'm very grateful that I have a job
knowing that their are millions of people out there who lost
their jobs because of outsourcing.

For one thing I know, they cannot outsource the hospital, so nowadays
the healthcare is the only field where I can say,"Yes, I have a job"

So, Lorenzo your parents and you are on the right track,
   therefore, go for it.

And I'm glad, states, that you are in love and so adamant about nursing!
And you are a Med-Surg Nurse as well? Dedication na. hehehe. I have friends that are Med/surg and Tele nurses. Takes alot to work those floors. Patience and sharp intellect.

Many times I received compliments from my patients and families as well,
pleasant attitude towards others really does it.
For me what I do, I tried to do it well because the Lord is watching me
I pray even when I start an IV, I say it silently especially if the patient is hard
to stick much more if he/she is a black person, their veins are hard to find.

Most of the time I was being asked what country is my origin and I'm so
proud to say, "I'm from the Philippines"
