Fire Stations in Dehydration?
« on: October 05, 2007, 07:18:21 PM »
Local fire stations---and even local government units (LGUs)---are dehydrated in waiting when they may be able to get shares from the national government for the local revenues they have collected in implementing the National Fire Code.

Provincial Fire Marshall Nonilo Acero said the fire stations, thru the LGUs, should retain at least one-half of the total fire fee collection, to which the local fire stations can readily access funds for urgent maintenance and operation or to enhance their equipment.

The Bohol chief of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) has been saddened by the cold attitude of the national government on this aspect because his command , which includes the fire station in Tagbilaran City, has been diligent in work.
