Today Michelle Obama announced that Cristeta Comerford will stay on as White House executive chef, putting to rest all the speculation surrounding the decision.

"Cristeta Comerford brings such incredible talent to the White House operation and came very highly regarded from the Bush family," Michelle Obama said in a statement released by the transition team. "Also the mom of a young daughter, I appreciate our shared perspective on the importance of healthy eating and healthy families."

Maybe Laura wished to take her along...

The former first family has high praises over this Pinay chef, she cooked  with love and concern that was the point  best considered by the  incoming first lady Michelle Obama, a healthy meal is very important for her having growing kids. Praise the Lord that her Filipina upbringings helped her career.

After first lady Laura Bush fired the White House executive chef in February, a group of female chefs and restaurateurs sent her a letter urging her to do what no other first lady has done -- name a woman to the position.

Yesterday she did just that, selecting Cristeta Comerford, a 10-year veteran of the White House kitchen, as the new executive chef.

Comerford, who is married with one child, lives in Columbia. She holds a degree in food technology from the University of the Philippines and specializes in ethnic and American cuisine.

She really deserved it Manay no? Kay it is not easy to get that job ug wala shay hard work nga gipakita...

Aside from her excellent qualifications, Laura Bush expressed her desire to place more women chef in this line of profession fortunately supported by Michelle Obama.

I am so proud of this Pinay Chef Cristeta.  And one thing I like her most kay she is so unassuming. She served three Presidents already. 

Pero ajaw ka kay ang mga paryente ani maoy perteng galota! hahahhaha

She seemed vey nice to me though...

Bitaw mo retire ra jud na sha as a presidential chef...o ba kaha i hire na sha sa mga dagko nga restawran sa NY or Chicago mas mahal pa ang bajad...kay remember, sweldohan ra baja na sha sa gobyerno as a "presidential chef" sa payroll,  ang ija lang ana ang prestige maka lilisang...
