A mother and her two children were wounded in an aborted robbery. The suspect stabbed them upon entry at their residence in Capitol Valley, Tagbilaran City.
The victims were identified as Evalaine Evangelista, 34, pawnshop manager and her two children, John Reeve, 8 and Danielle Joyce, 6.
The three entered their house from Church last Sunday when they found the suspect holding a knife and immediately attacked them. The mother was stabbed in her left breast while both of her children's left thighs were also wounded.
The suspect immediately rushed out from the house after stabbing the victims who were rushed to the Ramiro Hospital.
The suspect was identified by eyewitnesses as Mark Joseph Remedio alias Bayogyog, 20, jobless, of Dao district, this city, a neighbor of the victims.
Police said the suspect is a known "rugby boy" and has been a suspect in previous burglary cases.
The suspect, after 24 hours, surrendered to the police.
Robbery with 3 counts of frustrated murder will be charged against the suspect who told police that he barged into the Evangelista residence to get some food to eat. (With reports from Willie Maestrado)
