On the background, there is even a larger ship: the BRP Bacolod City. The Bacolod City is what we call a heavy dry dock/ transport ship.

It's good to see that the Phil. Navy is maintaining her ships nicely. :)

Many of the ships in this class are patrolling the waters of Region VII. Cebu, Bohol, Siqijor and parts of Leyte for anti-piracy and anti-smuggling.

These ships are part of the Philippine Fleet's rapid Assault Craft Force.

I believe that the Philippines does not need super ships. We do not need destroyers or expensive frigates.

If the Philippines can have 20-30 of these kinds of ships, armed with depth charges (for anti-submarine capability) and with ARM/Sidewinder missiles for anti-air capability as well as Phalanx anti-ship missile defense system, then these ships can be a formidable force.

The Philippines just needs to attach 4-6 missile pods on the back that can launch ship-based anti-ship missiles.

Considering that we are an island nation, we need many of these small ships not those large and slow destroyeres or frigates.
