Are You Scared of Tsunami?
« on: October 25, 2007, 09:13:27 PM »
Residents of coastal towns continue to live in fear, believing a huge tsunami is coming.

This week, text messages were passed warning of a coming tsunami, purportedly caused by the movement of the Hibok-Hibok Volcano in the nearby island of Camiguin.

The panic spread to towns of Anda, Guindulman, Duero and even up to Loay, a town just 16 kilometers away from the capital city of Tagbilaran.

Residents were calling their relatives living in higher grounds, asking that they temporarily stay with them, away from their coastal residence because of the coming rise of the seawater that later on would become a tsunami.

The Philippine Volcanology (Philvocs) office here denied receiving warning about an impending volcano eruption in Camiguin.

Philvocs officials believe the unfounded panic is anchored on the latest visit here, about a month ago, of Philvocs and the Civil Defense Administration officials who conducted tsunami preparedness drill, in the towns of Valencia and Duero.

We have every reason to worry about natural dangers no matter how prepared we may be to get away and be safe of them at the same time.
I am not aftraid of natural dangers such as tsunami's I am afraid of persons panicking and actting stupid and there fore getting in the way of other's.
You can never be way too much over planned for any emergency to happen.
Save drinking water up, make a preparedness kit with foods that are ready to eat. also include flashlights,  with extra batteries and a medical kit with important medications that need to be taken.
Only get important birth documents and keep them with you during the emergency to avoid being blown away during the natural emergency.
Designate everyone a certain job to be done while preparing to get away from danger. Be cool and work fast and make a meeting place for all to wait at while waiting out the natural dangers.
Include an evacuation route in your emergency kit as well.
