Was this Japanese lady involved in a diving accident? I hope these are not victims of crime.

Japanese woman 58 years old,
along with her husband and other Philippines/Japanese divers with a dive master and a dive group from Dauis had taken a boat out to pangloa and went diving around 0830 hours in the morning.
The woman had been noticed to be sinking rather fast her japanese dive master pulled her back up to 13 meters below the surfce and she gave him an okay singal via using her hands.

She gave out a couple of kicks and afterwards was lifeless.
They recued here and adminstered CPR in the boat and had taken her to Ramiro Community Hospital were she was pronounced DOA.
She was a school teacher from Japan.
The incident is still under investigation.

****

Korean national and his female campagnian  were playing alongside the pools edge at Bohols Divers Resort at around 2am who had checked into Tiera Azul in Alona beach with their group from Korea one day before.
The two when playing at the swimming pools ledge were said to have been drunk.
The female companion had fallen in the pool and was seen submerged belows the pools surface this caused her friend to go into the pool and rescue her.
She had noticed her companion did not surface out of the water and went to the poolside bar askiing for help immediatley.
When the help arived the Korean victim was already 9 feet below the pools surface.
They administered cpr but when taken to Ramiro Community Hospital he was announced DOA on arrival.

*****
Chinese/Philippine Tourism guide and owner had been with a tourist group in Bohols Beach Club and had been buying drinks for his party had a heart attack inside his room. The victim was given aide by the resorts clinic nurse but was taken to Ramiro Community Hospital. He died shortly after being examined.

I am sorry if this was not able to be posted. It should have been in the web but the associate editors son is the one who decides what stories are to be put on the web.
Sorry again for any inconveinance.

It's a big relief these tragic deaths fall under accident and not homicide or murder. Still, these accidents were entirely avoidable. Since Bohol is gaining international reputation as a tourist destination, we should train and provide lifeguards in beaches and pools, as well as upgrade our hospital's emergency response.

Sir Benelynee, I think we are still too far for this necessary actions for tourists safety and convenience.  Sorry to say, that
they entertain first in "cash connections" rather than life importance. This is another minus point in our behalf.  We have still to learn lot of things.
Sad to know that those victims were claimed Death on arrival at the hospital..I remembered when we had needed an ambulance from Community Hospital to another hospital near the airport for my sick mother's transport...dugay kaayo kay wa kunoy gasolina. We must have to tightly hold the ambulance bed coz there were no security brake on it.  So, we decided to buy our own small service for this purpose.

May the rest in peace!

A grabeha pud, way gasolina ang ambulance! Di katingalahan nga DOA ang pasyente. What a shame for us since we aspire to be an international tourist destination. Diri sa Japan, I remember having called an ambulance twice for emergencies in the family and neighborhood and the response came within 3 to 5 minutes. The response time makes a lot of difference in life-and-death situations. Pero importante pud ang preventive measures like putting in place well-trained life guards and scuba diving guides because with the expected surge in tourist traffic to Bohol, di gyud malikayan ang mga aksidente.

We must understand that the incidents were related to "drinking liquor" except for the 1 on diving.  The tourists must know their limits... though probably we have deficiencies in our facilities but on those cases there were already delays (how a reaction of a companion could be snappy when he/she is also drunk).  On the latter, she must have some heart (breathing) problems... however, that would be a lesson to learn...we must be proactive.

I have heard that health and medical service in Bohol is one of its weak spots. The last topnotcher in the physician's licensure exam was a Boholana. HNU boasts of a passing average higher than the national average in the nursing board. Why is our health service in such a deplorable state? Siguro tua na pud sa abroad, sama nato! Blaming them would be pointing the fingers at ourselves. Pero tagaan pud unta pagtagad sa gobyerno atong kaugalingon health care system. Accidents are not always within our control. But something is terribly awry if we say our health system is out of our hands.

Nakit-an ba nimo ang TV Patrol sa TFC nga gigamit pagdeliver ug drugs ang ambulance sa Manila, unya naa pud to skirt the heavy traffic para ihatud ang mga pamilya sa trabaho? State of emergency na gyud ang atong nasod kung magpadayon ang emergency ambulance gamiton for such crooked purposes.

This info was according to the investigation team and police record.

The two deaths are still being assessed/determined.

The tanks at the dive shop had been mixed up and it was hard to determine which tankit was that the victim actually used?

No it was the Bohol Standard og JAPHIL Bantay Balita that was able to publish my write ups on the issue.

Other newspapers in the area are considered as white washing (covering up)due to probably losing maybe advertisement finances with resorts or tourism.

We have had several deaths with Nationals happen this year and not all have been published.

In fact one foreigner approached me knowing that I am in media and he scowled at me
because he was not aware of his other friend fatal accident neither was he able to attend the funeral because none of the media outlets had mentioned his death.

Its important too let people know what is going on and to who and how and why it happened and it is also important so that others can be made aware.

I am against sensationalism, but I am also against self-censorship in view of vested interests.

For all the criticisms heaped on them, I admire ABS-CBN journalists because they not only bring up issues that railroad the interests of their advertisers and prospective advertisers, they also have the gumption to air sensitive issues that put their employers (Lopezes) on the defensive.

I think incidents like these should be investigated and covered by the media to determine possible management and professional negligence of the parties involved.

Thank You everyone for your support and interest in my writings.

I know why my write up taken apart by my associated editor last week as he took out the details and when slicing and splicing he did not make it smooth and left out the key phrase that said the diver Korean national who had drowned was forced to go into the swimming pool at Boho Diver's to save his female companion.
Last week being the one of the two paers that I write for the SB had held a floor session and dicussed my write up and want to have further investigation especaily on behalf of the female Japanese woman who drowned.
My editer also asked me to email him the investigational records from a very reliable member in the tourism police force and when he ran my story it was about five pages inside chopped up and imagine yesterdays paper is the part he cutt out of mine and made into his specail report on the front page.
Sometimes I really hate media.
I was proud that the Chronicle had also written about my report from last week and the SB matter regarding the issue.

I want that my relation and friendships with the other outlets remain but I want to be treated in kindness as I had paid over P500 to travel round trp to get the news and the reports and the interveiws and then when it was chopped and to find it under another name on the front page has me irrate!
I already informed my publisher it was unethical.

When I had writeen it in its full context je put reports by Priscilla....
instead by ........ Walay klaro!

anyways I think this weekend chronicle and standard came out with thewrite up after seeing mine had gotten attention as I was the exclusive one last week in the media to have the news.
