Talibon-way of celebrating Philippine Independence

TALIBON - The Local Government Unit of Talibon, joined the whole nation in the observance of the 109th Freedom Day. The celebration actually started last May 28 with the display of national colors at the Rizal Plaza and in the private and public utility vehicles.

With the theme "Sama-sama tayong lahat tungo sa pag-asenso" Reelected Mayor Juanario Item led the national, provincial and local officials and employees in the affair. The June 12 commemoration was started with the morning flag raising ceremony and followed with the wreath laying at the Rizal, President Carlos P. Garcia and the veteran's monuments.

Present during the affair were Reelected Vice-Mayor Restituto Auxtero, Philippine National Police (PNP) headed by SPO4 Claudio Avenido, Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) lad by SFO3 Ricardo Garcia, veterans of Talibon Command Post headed by Patricio Eronico, district post commander and the rest of all national, provincial and municipal employees.

Meanwhile the newly formed Talibon Municipal Prevention and Eradication Council chaired by Mayor Item held its first meeting last Friday at the Carlos P. Garcia memorial session hall at 2 p.m. The meeting was conducted to discuss on how to facilitate the conduct of various activities related to the implementation of rabies eradication campaign and other concerns.

Members of the council are Judith Garay, municipal agricultural officer and vice chairman; Dr. Francisco Ngoboc Jr., municipal health officer; Kagawads Jose Wayne Evardo and Tomas Cornelio; Eutiquio Avergonzado, ABC president; Roldano Munalem, information officer, Zosima Gabisan, social welfare officer; Ma. Allien Item, agri tech.; Lawyer Arturo Rubio, public attorney officer; PSIns Alex dela Cerna, chief of police; Dr. Rosalinda Evangelista Ph.D., schools district supervisor and Loreto Auxtero, president.(Bohol Sunday Post)
