In Tagbilaran City, population soared to 89,037 by 2003, with crude birth rate of 22 live births per 1,000 people and four deaths per 1,000 people, Tagbilaran City Medical Officer IV Teomin Casano reported.
At present, Tagbilaran has limited resources in housing, employment and safe water, while facing the problem of congestion in urban poor housing and low-cost housing.
Linking the problems to over-population, the City Health City intensifies its campaign by including Responsible Parenthood and PHE in regular CHO Education Programs like Pre-Marriage Counseling once a week, Mother's Class in the barangay level, FPAS, and Pabasa sa Nutrisyon. (AV-PGMA)
