I have to confess that I haven't seen a Harry Potter movie in its entirety. I watched the first one in the theater but fell asleep mid-movie. I've only seen the rest on cable TV but always I miss either the beginning, the middle, or the end. $:-\$

I agree 100%. All movies with book versions can never justify the beauty and imagery of the printed materials. I do watch movies based from books to see how the characters are portrayed in the big screen, to see how apt the choices are, and that's all. Nothing can beat books. I prefer curling up in my hammock on a lazy Saturday with a good book than watching movies or gallivanting around town.

Gawd, this will be my last post until next week. I'm hosting Chin's 4-day visit to BKK. I'm so gonna miss TB.

Anyway, if you really want to read a good fantasy that unites philosophy, mystery, and magic, I strongly suggest Ursula K. Le Guin's A Wizard of Earthsea and the some other books in the Earthsea Cycle.

They have really good actors in the cast, though. Maggie Smith is a favorite. She was especially fun in The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie. And a little hot then, too (of course, this was way back in the 60's, when she must have been 30-ish.).

If this were Riva's intention, which we know it not to be, this is not necessarily bad for you. :-) Coffee and cream may go together but you can have coffee without cream and it would still be good. However, you can't have only cream, unless you have an unnatural fondness for it.
