The Bohol Sandugo Foundation, Inc. (BSFI) has set July 6 as deadline for the submission of entries of the Sandugo Streetdancing.

It is an open competition for all groups in the Province of Bohol and the City of Tagbilaran delving on “Panag-hiusa sa Kaliwat, Kalamboan sa Tanan" as this year’s theme.

A group must be composed of at least 60 and a maximum of 100 participants of any sex, including the instrumentalists who may participate in the dance, and the guidon bearer who carries the banner or placard identifying the group.

The choreography should include a ritual depicting Boholano dance customs, traditions, or way of life (blood compact, weddings, fiesta, etc.) or authentic use of foreign dance, idioms, and traditions.
In the use of foreign-based movements, the important criterion is authenticity based on cultural research.  Any musical instrument maybe used. A plus factor will be added on the use of indigenous instruments using indigenous materials. In the use of foreign music, authenticity in the use of such music to portray foreign culture must be observed. Because of this, the use of canned or taped music is allowed, but blended with live music.

On July 26 during the awarding rites at the CPG Sports Complex, the champion shall receive P200,000, plus a trophy, while the first and second runners-up will bring home P150,000 plus trophy and P100,000 plus trophy, respectively.

In addition, special awards and other prizes will be given.
Giving of subsidy amounting to P30,000 will be done immediately after the submission of entry form, the deadline of which is on July 6, 2009.

To protect the interest of the Sandugo Festival sponsors, the Streetdancing Committee reserves the right to disallow the participation of entries directly sponsored by companies/entities in competition with lock-out sponsors.
