Mr Tagbilaran City Ian Orillos and Ms Loay Ma. Glaiza Lepiten took the first ever Mr and Miss Teen Bohol titles in a glittering final last Thursday in Tagbilaran City.
Orillos, a 19-year old student of Holy Name University almost jumped up high when his name was announced as Mr Teen Bohol. Lepiten, wearing a tight-fitting black and white maxi gown, was shocked and almost fought back tears as the Miss Teen Bohol sash was draped over her shoulder and a glittering crown placed on her head. Lepiten blew kisses to the crowd and hugged her competitors after the pageant.
Contestants from the different towns of Bohol competed in the pageant. They were judged by their performance in shortswear and evening and formal gowns modeling contest and their responses to a questions asked onstage. The top 5 contestants worked the stage in a final interview and they showed off their choice of glittering evening gowns and formal wear. Lepiten’s was a flowing, white and black white number that stood out among a serried of maxi gowns.
Their titles come with a scholarship grant from Informatics and Cristal E-College, P15 thousands each and an undisclosed honorarium from SK. They will attend official functions and events organized by the SK. This October, Orillos and Lepiten will grace the SK National Congress in Subic.
Balilihan bets Hilary Jalem and Maria Tiffany Tabigue were declared second runners-up.
Mark Johnuel Duavis of Buenavista and Jeanny Lou Easter Dunting of Inabanga were declared first runners-up.
Special awards like best in shortwear and Mr. Photogenic went to Jan Jeffrey Reston of Inabanga and Dunting. Orillos was declared best in formal wear while Dunting received the best in evening gown, Mr. Friendship was Renieven Berdon and Miss Friendship award went to Tabigue, best in production number is Lito Manuel of Garcia Hernandez and Guldamer Malou Sombrio of Loon. Ms Photogenic was Cemene Grace Añora of Buenavista, Mr and Miss Ever Bilena were Parker Bolanio of Candijay and Clarice Elaine Falcon Radoc of Tubigon, and Mr and Miss Coca-Cola were Orillos and Mygie Obrador.
The two- hour invited celebrity judges Charee Pineda (ABS-CBN’s Let’s Go), Diane Medina (ABS-CBN’s Banana Split), model Marco Aranas and Luis Lorenzo Antonio Del Rio of Belo’s Medical Group. SK national president Jane Censoria Cajes served as the chairman of the board of judges.
According to Cajes, the winners will become ambassadors of SK as the ultimate search for the province’s most desirable youth came to an end. “We are looking for Mr and Miss Teen with style, charm, intelligence and strength of character. The pageant is not about the crowns and titles; it is about responsibility and service.â€
