Two members of the City Monitoring Team otherwise known as "city hall's task force" will be facing formal charges in court in connection with the shooting of a city resident in barangay Mansasa, this city last April 4.
The dawn shooting incident victimized a certain Warren Araneta who was hit near his chest while Ericson Estomo suffered physical injuries.
City Prosecutor Cristobal found probable cause on the attempted homicide charges filed against Dennis Antasuda, the alleged triggerman, and less serious physical injury against Roger Laway.
Cleared from charges were PO1 Dino Namoc and task force members Esmeraldo Laway, Cerilo Garcia and Jessel Guitones.
Meanwhile, NAPOLCOM Regional Director Bernie Calibo earlier ordered an investigation on the existence of the city task force and how it is functioning in relation to police matters. The probe resulted to the transfer of some key officers of the city PNP. He warned the PNP on allowing the existence of armed civilians working on the guise as task force members.
