Thanks to all those who supported this event. It was very successful. Youth bands from other churches are requesting to join next time, so Lynne and I are planning something bigger to be participated in by different churches at least within Tagbilaran next year.
Here are some of the photos taken during the launching of the youth contemporary Christian music band, calling themselves M316, in our church in Tagbilaran, March of Faith.

M316? I was also clueless as to why these young musicians chose this name. It may either sound like a deadly weapon or a music gadget, depending on your age and interest.

But to the spunky youth of our church, the name is taken from John 3:16 which says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.

What really touched me about them is that they are brimming with creativity in their expression of praise.

Aside from the four walls of the church, they have never performed in a public venue as big as ICM. It was daunting, but challenges are made for the youth and the young at heart.

They've always shared with me their desire to have their own CD of youthful Christian music. I just tell them, "Reach for your dreams. That's why God makes us young once in our life. The Bible says, 'Honor God while you are still young.'"

If your music connects with one or two in the audience, and plants the seed there for them to seek God, that's more than enough recompense for all your efforts.

Psalm 8:2 From the lips of children and infants you have ordained praise

Since two of my kids are also teenagers, who are still adjusting to their new environment in the Philippines, I decided to make the youth my special ministry in the church for my kids to be able to connect to their musically creative brethren and kith.

I am also glad to be able to make use of my event-organizing skills in Japan, especially during my marketing stint with ABS-CBN Global, to be able to nourish the spiritual gifts of these youngsters.

Again, thanks to Bohol Beach Club, 18 K Fashion Gallery, Master's Link Travel & Tours, Ellan Joy, Baseteres Dry Goods and Jewelynne for the sponsorship which covered the venue rental fee.
