More fire hydrants for the City, this ups the fire fighting capability of the local fire stations, says Tagbilaran City Fire Marshal Manases Bautista, during the recent Kapihan sa PIA.
This despite only two minor fire alarms in the city since his assumption to office last December, Bautista shared.
But taking pro-active fire measures at the weekly government radio program aired at the DYTR, both city and provincial fire marshals tackled on the Fire Prevention Month and their activities as the month came marching in.
According to Bautista, the city government through Mayor Dan Lim has raised firefighting odds when it recently approved the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) move to put up additional fire hydrants in strategic areas in the city.
“Most of our 12 fire hydrants are located along the CPG avenue and these are the old ones,†Bautista said.
He added that the new fire hydrants would be placed near the Dao-Dampas Central market area and the Island City Mall, near Manga Public Market, at the Taloto area, Pook Pantalan to give access to the port and at CPG east-Mansasa area.
