A caroling contest will highlight the annual celebration of the birth of Christ in this GSIS-assisted subdivision at the Lindaville sports plaza, this city on Tuesday, Christmas Day.

The choral competition which blasts off at 8 p.m. will be aired live through the facilities of Station DYRD.

Tubigon COMELEC Officer Cirilo Esperanza, Jr., president of the Lindaville Subdivision Phase I residents Association, Inc. (LSPIRAI), disclosed Friday that the group singing tilt is opened to all qualified residents of the subdivision, both Phase I and Phase II.

The Board of Judges is composed of well-known personalities with credible credentials in music. Chaired by Enriquieta Borja Butalid, head of the Provincial Culture and the Arts Division (CCAD), the other jurors include Fr. Oriel Echavia, a clergyman-composer, and Evencio Gallego, a US-based musician who used to be a paring Bol-anon.

Only bonafide residents of the Lindaville Subdivision, Phases I and II can qualify as contestants. Every choral group which comes from the subdivision's 12 puroks (trinities) carries a limit of 10 to 16 members.

The choral rendition shall not exceed eight minutes. A corresponding deduction of one point will be made for every minutes of excess.

Performers will be judged according to the following criteria: Voice Quality - 30%; Showmanship or Stage Presence - 20%; Timing - 20%; Diction or Pronunciation - 20%; and Choreography - 10%.

LSPIRAI Director Godofredo Fuertes and Gov. Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital Administrative Officer Evelyn Oracion chairs and co-chairs the Daygon Contest Committee.
