The rally that brought some old and limping senior-citizens beneficiaries of the free medicine project to the street, led to the pronouncement of City Mayor Dan Lim for its reopening.
In his regular Saturday radio program, Mayor Lim said he was touched at the sight of the Botika sa Katawhan beneficiaries and this will make its opening sooner on March 11.
Kagawad Edi Borja, committee chairman on health, also sung on air his modified version of “Mibalik Ako†dedicated to Botika founder Mariano Uy.
The city mayor offered a recording opportunity for Borja after his touching song.
Mr. Uy also confirmed on the same radio program reopening of Botika on Tuesday with a new name “Libreng Tambal ni Dan.â€
An estimated one thousand crowd gathered at the side of the unfinished Agora market building Friday afternoon with a short program culminating with speeches from beneficiaries, including barangay chairmen.
Some of the participants were bringing placards urging the City Mayor to reopen and continue the project. Others have placards particularly condemning two kagawads; Zenaido Rama and Edgar Kapirig as cause of the Botika closure.
