Pacman eyes another world championship
 




Champion boxer Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao has vowed to win the Olympics of Cockfighting, the 2008 National Cockers’ Association (NCA) World Championship Derby set Jan. 8, 10 and 12 at the Rizal Multipurpose Building in Pasig City.


Along with Pacquiao, Philip Chiongbian, the scion of the prominent Chiongbian family, and Bebot Uy will represent Mindanao in the NCA derby.

Manolo Lopez of Meralco, Pepito Ngo, the tandem of Vice Mayor Nestor Mercado and Lito Orillaza, former Senator Ramon Revilla Sr. and Jun Marasigan have long prepared for the NCA blockbuster derby.

Joey and Buboy delos Santos, heavyweights from Southern Luzon, the Madlambayan Brothers and Alex Escalona of Central Luzon are favorites to win the prestigious title.

Not to be outdone are bosom buddies James Uy, William Go, and Allan Siaco, who have all promised to bag the NCA World Championship honors this year.

Jet Fernando has also been energetically preparing for the NCA derby. He has the most number of imported aces from the United States. He visits annually prominent breeders in the United States, and buys his aces from them.

Butch Pichay, on the other hand, is seriously eyeing the NCA World Championship Derby trophy this year. The trophy was designed and handcrafted by renowned National Artist Eduardo Castrillo.
