at this point, federer is projected to surpass pete sampras' record of 14 grand slams. he's still 26 years old and has 12 grandslams tucked under his belt. if he can win the french open, he will tie andre agassi for having won a personal record for having won all 4 grand slam titles. the australian open, wimbledon, french open and the US open. although agassi won each title not in the same calendar year. the only player to have won the 4 major trophies in the same year was the legendary rocket rod laver of australia.
however, his archnemesis from spain rafael nadal is always there to spoil whatever roger brings on the table. so expect more hard court, clay court, rubber court and grass court action between these 2 tennis icons in the 21st century.
