In a brutal fight, Michael Katsidis retained his title with a close unanimous decision over Czar Amonsot.
The Filipino challenger went down twice in the fight, although he had Katsidis' face a grotesque mask of blood and swelling in the end.
Judge Ruben Garcia scored it 116-110, Patricia Jarman saw it 114-112 and CJ Ross penned it 115-111 all in favor of Katsidis.
Amonsot was down in the second and tenth rounds, although the Filipino fighter made Katsidis look ordinary in this win by engaging the Australian into a war.
