More than 700 relatives and guests trooped to the Pacman Gym in Barangay Tambler, General Santos City Sunday night to attend the birthday party of Dionesia Pacquiao, mother of Sarangani Rep. and 8-division boxing champ Manny Pacquiao.
Mommy Dionesia, 62, was unable to fetch her son at the General Santos City Airport as she was busy for the preparations for her birthday party.
The party started with Mass and then a priestly blessing for the gym.
Sporting a brand new blue gown, the Pacmom said she didn't feel 62 but 26 years old.
Pacquiao said he wants his mother to live a long life.
"Proud Kaayo ko nga naa koy ginikanan sama nimo Ma daghang salamat og hinaot iampo nako sa ginoo nga tagaan pa ka og taas nga kinabuhi," he said.
Even the Pacmom's own mother, 89-year-old Lola Cristina Dapidran, also sent her greetings to Mommy Dionisia.
The Pacmom, meanwhile, shed tears of joy after Pacquiao and his wife, Jinkee, gave her a lavish present: a handmade Birkin bag by Hermès reportedly worth P1 million.
Finally, Mommy Dionisia showed off her newest pastime - ballroom dancing and singing.
Among those who attended the party were Ilocos Sur Gov. Luis "Chavit" Singson, former President Joseph Estrada and local officials of General Santos City and Sarangani province. Report by Francis Canlas, ABS-CBN News
