The comment on the lower right hand quadrant indicating anti-neoplastic qualities of cannabis is quite misleading. There is a fundamental difference in "evidence" for anti-neoplasm to "clinically safe for human trials" , which requires the passing of phase I, II, III trials. As of now, the best way to treat cancer is through medicines that target the DNA of fast replicating cancers, drugs that include the following:

1. Vincristine
2. Vinblastine
3. Paclitaxel
4. Methotrexate
 etc etc.

Cannabis does not target the genetic level, which is the catalyst of cancer.

Again, pro-marijuana junkies do not have the medical knowledge and are disseminating eclectically confusing information to the lay population. Foolish imbeciles.

I know of a person who i used to be friends with in college who is a chronic pot smoker. He smokes marijuana on a regular basis and he spends $500 a week on his supplies. He is very poor and his dependency on this drug, which is highly addictive, is causing him financial problems.

Marijuana like any other schedule I drugs such as methamphetamine (shabu) , crack cocaine, have a high propensity to cause physical and psychological dependence.

This is why it remains illegal. Their risks outweighs any of their "claimed" benefits.

Marinol, or otherwise known as Dronabinol, has derivatives from cannabis. However, this drug does not treat cancer. Dronabinol is prescribed to treat the NVD (nausea, vomitting, diarrhea) associated with chemotherapy, and alkylating agents that are given to kill the cancer.

This drug is not necessarily given that much because it has a plethora of serious side effects including: anxiety, tachycardia, severe nausea, memory loss, suicidal ideation and feelings of depression.

I prefer to prescibe a drug called granisetron, or palonestron, which have fewer side effects.
