Module 4 complete!
Only four (4) modules and a dissertation separate the 18 hopefuls from being conferred a TrainforTrade Port Management Program Modern Port Management Certification from the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).
Finally held in-person at the Port Management Office of Davao from 23-27 May 2022, the candidates also passed the exams with flying colors wherein for the first time in the history of the program, two of the candidates logged perfect scores.
The #UNCTADTFTMPM is a major bridging program of the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) to guarantee a pool of qualified and competent personnel to run the ports in the future.
Several graduates of the program have become UNCTAD’s local experts while others were promoted to higher positions, being Port Manager included.
Facilitated by the PPA Training Institute, the 18 participants are from the PPA Office, PMOs Batangas, Bicol, Eastern Leyte/Samar, Panay/Guimaras, Iligan, Zamboanga, and Zamboanga Del Norte plus a candidate each from Asian Terminals, Inc. and GlobalPort.
Resource persons for this module were Mr. Ciaran Callan, an Irish Port expert, Annie Lee F. Manese of PMO NCR-North and a local port expert, and two representatives from the Pelindo Port in Indonesia.
